Beware: The Troll Bridge

This was for a challenge about 'inside' family jokes, etc.

Living on the Ohio/West Virginia border along the Ohio River we have several bridges we could cross, but the one that is usually most convenient is the toll bridge. Not an expensive toll about 40 cents but does add up if you have to go across often. It is situated right above the waste water treatment plant so it is often quite stinky! Ever since our own kids were little we've called it the Troll Bridge because of the smell. Brad has made up stories about villages of trolls living under there and sometimes when they are very angry it smells ALOT! Sometimes there are stories of them at war and coming up to the bridge and it's just fun to keep adding onto the stories. Now, that our grandkids have graced our lives it is even more fun. Their little eyes spark up as soon as we start crossing the bridge and they are anxious to see if it's smelly and immediately they want to hear some stories. All the while no one has ever actually seen one but they always keep looking! We describe the trolls and they are always very ugly and grotesque in build.
